Alexander Murray Hiking Trail

About: The Alexander Murray Hiking Trail in King's Point is an 8 km (round trip) trail with an international reputation. It consists of 2,200 stairs, which loop around one side the mountain and back down the other. The trail offers spectacular views of the area including 3 waterfalls, and mountain wildlife. Expect to take 3-5 hours, medium difficulty rating.

Skipper Joe's Souvenirs

About: Skipper Joe's Souvenir shop is one of the newest business, in one of the oldest buildings. The building was originally opened as a restaurant by Skipper Joe (Tucker) , in the 1950s. He eventually turned it into a fishing stage. Now, almost 70 years later, his grandson has once again opened Skipper Joe's doors. They sell a number of Newfoundland souvenirs, handmade crafts, and treats.

Dr. Jon Lien Humpback Whale Pavilion

About: The Pavilion opened in 2010, housing the world's largest skeleton of a humpback whale. It is named after the late Dr. Jon Lien who helped both fisherpeople and whales here and around the world. Admission cost to the Pavilion is $5.00. This fee also includes admission to the Heritage House. Don't forget to visit our sister pavilion in Triton. Open July - Sept.

About: The King's Point Heritage building was built circa 1905 and belonged to the Yates Family. In 2000 they generously donated the house to the King's Point Heritage Society. The building is complete with antiques and vintage items that have been given by individuals in the area. Admission to the heritage house is included in the $5 fee for the Whale Pavilion. Open July - Sept.

Rattling Brook Falls & Park

About: Rattling Brook Falls is an 850 foot waterfall, that spills out over the edge of the cliffs in the town of Rattling Brook. The falls can be easily seen from the road, however the hiking trail (10-15 minutes to complete) will take you to a viewing platform where you can take in breath taking views. Once you are done that, you can walk across to road to see where the falls meets the ocean at Rattling Brook Park. The park features a gazebo, fire pit, picnic tables, and a swing set/slide for the little ones. At the park you can walk along the beach and dip your toes into the ice cold water of the Atlantic Ocean.

Dulcie's Store

About: Located at the end of Rattling Brook is Joshua Toms & Sons or as local people know it, Dulcie's. Dulcie herself will be more than happy to tell you about its' long history when you stop by.  It is like walking back in time, as it has preserved much of it's original charm from when it opened six decades ago. Heated by a wood stove, featuring a museum in the back, she has lovingly filled it with a collection of antiques. The store has been on an episode of Land and Sea.

Caribou Trail
​Location: Rattling Brook
​Category: Hiking Trail
About: The Caribou Trail is one of our newer trails, completed in 2016. The trail starts at the far end of Rattling Brook. It takes hikers along a grassy hill top, past a small water fall, down to the edge of the ocean and through the trees. It is a easy to moderate hike, with one steep set of stairs, and some rocky uphill terrain. The hike takes about 60-90 minutes in and out.

George Huxter Memorial Park

About: George Huxter Memorial Park is a 38 lot RV and tenting park that is fully equipped with showers and washroom facilities. Enjoy the water front walking trail or watch the atlantic salmon jump at the falls.

Indian River Walking Trail
Location: Springdale
​Category: Walking Trail 
About: The walking trail winds along Indian River, in an area called the Springdale Wetlands. It takes you upstream towards the scenic Riverwood area where you can connect to another river trail to the George Huxter Memorial Park. The trail has many wild visitors that you might get a chance to see. ie. moose, ducks, eagles, owls, beavers, and more. The trail, from beginning all the way to George Huxter park and back, is 5.6 km to complete. However the section that takes you from the trail entrance to Riverwood and back takes approximately 20-40 minutes depending on pace. Rated easy.

Glassy Beach
Location: Springdale
​Category: Walking Trail & Beach
About: This beach each gains it name from the large amount of glass on it's shore. It was once the town's bottle dump (back when most containers were glass), over time the bottles wore down to beach glass. Located at the far east end of Springdale, there is signage but any local will be able to point you in the right direction. A short walking trail leads out to the beach. It isn't very long but there are some steep spots to take into consideration for anyone with mobility issues. Rated easy.

Ocean View Walking Trail
​Location: Jackson's Cove
Category: Walking/Hiking Trail
About: Ocean View Walking Trail is located near Jackson's Cove, NL. It is a 5km trail, taking about 60 to 120 minutes in and out, depending on pace and amount of time spent at lookouts. There are three ocean look outs along the trail, including the view of a natural sea arch. The trail has some stairs and boardwalk and is rated easy to moderate.

​Category: Beach & Sight Seeing
About: The beach located in Nicky's Nose Cove, is a hot spot for icebergs, whale sightings, and especially capelin. During capelin season the beach is often lined off with locals and tourists alike, collecting the tiny fish by the bucket load. Nicky's Nose Beach is a perfect spot for watching the sunset.

About: King's Cove Trail is a 5 km hiking trail located in Harry's Harbour. The trail takes you through bog, forest, and finally to the ocean's edge. It features some rugged terrain and side trails as well. The time to complete the trail varies based on level of experience and how many side trails you decide to explore. The trail takes you along two beautiful beaches, bog land (sometime complete with Newfoundland Pitcher Plants), forests and more.

The Pinnacle

About: The Pinnacle is a sea stack rock formation in Harry's Harbour. Some say you can see a face in the rock's outline, other's claim to see a full body! The Pinnacle is just off a rocky beach, perfect for beach combing. There is even a picnic table, and some parking.

A lovely 10km trail around majestic Crescent Lake (off Route 380) with a mix of wooded areas and attractive coastlines. Picturesque area includes a licensed salmon river, picnic spots, story boards, gazebos, bridges, lookouts, swimming areas, sandy beaches & much more. A 5 minute walk from Robert's Arm; rated easy to moderate hiking with some boardwalk & steps and an optional hike to the top of Hazelnut Hill. Trail surrounds tranquil Crescent Lake RV Park
